Odd Sites for 5/9

Saw most of Spider-Man tonight, but the Green Goblin got the best of my 5 yo son. It was pretty cool. I liked watching him swing down the streets of Manhattan and brood on a gargoyle on the Chrysler Building--the coolest building in the world!

Spider-man Hype -- The movie's great now check out the hype. Want to know what the movie grossed today, it's here!

Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends -- A nice Spidey site with some good links for more spider-man explorations.

Where's Bill Walton, 30 games in 30 days -- If you love the basketball playoffs, check out Bill Walton's travels across the country celebrating this great game. Go Spurs Go!!!

Odd Sites for 5/8

Okay I know it's been like a decade since I posted anything but I've been at the beach in Alabama and well I had a lotta stuff to do. There was the big Kentucky Derby Party at Orange Beach, which I went to via ferry across Mobile Bay with the Confederate Army (there was a battle of Mobile Bay reenactment that day). I was very careful not to let my Union--I mean Yankee roots show too strong. I avoided discussing my homesteading days in Minneapolis, Chicago and Brooklyn. I was very happy to be sporting Texas license plates. Aside from my brush with the enemy, I had sand castles to build, kites to fly, oysters to eat, a side trip to New Orleans--with some damn fine food. And what trip to the beach would be complete without watching at least 15 episodes of Sponge Bob! So you see how it would have been a superhuman feat to update this site and send out my newsletter. I'm glad you understand.

And P.S.-- Stefanie (one monster drummer and 2nd grade teacher) had her baby via C-Section and she and Baxter are doing fine. And so is Andy!

IT Anthems -- Some great--cheesy--motivational anthems and theme songs to stir your heart from the titans of tech.

Deconstructing Subway Ads -- The fine folks at Corporate Mofo critique the ads on the NYC Subway.

Okay okay I know this is only two. I think I got too much sun at the beach. All I'm doing is staring at the screen thinking weird thoughts and not searching for the little nuggets of goo that litter the web like my son's mouse's little turds litter the coffee table right now! Damn I even took a nap and slammed two diet pepsis and I'm still Lobotomy Joe.

Apple Sucks: Manifesto -- Okay here's one. This is kind of how I'm feeling now as I type away on my old Dell laptop instead of my fancy new Apple G4. The Dell is way faster at doing anything and about 4 years older.
